How my journey began

In February 2022, I left my position as the Executive Director of a mid-sized community health clinic to pursue other interests. After nearly 30 years of Non-Profit, Executive Leadership, my initial plan had been to take a few months off before launching my consulting and coaching business. Within weeks, I had been approached by colleagues at several area non-profits asking if I was available to consult with them to help “clean -up” their financial systems, records and processes.

In the course of my consulting work, I discovered that many non-profits had missed the opportunity to participate in one of the most lucrative COVID Relief programs.

I was very familiar with the Employee Retention Tax Credit because I had already successfully claimed over $400K of those funds on behalf of eligible non-profits during the time of the pandemic.

After filing amended returns on behalf of my consulting clients, I began to reach out to other friends and colleagues affiliated with local non-profits to inquire about whether they had claimed ERC and if not, if they would like me to help them do so.

In almost every case, I found that organizations had not fully taken advantage of the program either because it “seemed too complicated”, “we thought we weren’t eligible because we got a PPP loan”, or “we thought it was too late”. In each case, I offered to take a look and evaluate the organization’s eligibility and in almost every case, they were eligible and are now anticipating receiving “ Game Changing” Funds in the form of IRS refund checks with no restrictions.

In addition to recognizing the huge number of non-profits that were missing out on the ERC program, I was also appalled to learn about the predatory practices including intimidating “sales” pitches and exorbitant fee structures of up to 18% of the claim if paid in advance, or 30% if paid upon receipt of the IRS refund, that many non-profits were being presented with from the many companies that had sprouted up to take advantage of the complexity of the ERC program.

Once I realized the potential benefit, opportunity and need for a trusted, experienced partner in this process, I set a goal and made it my mission to bring $5 Million in ERC funds into my local community with as much integrity and as inexpensively as possible.

That was in December of 2022. 5 months later, I have helped over 40 organizations file claims and have surpassed my original goal. The organizations I’ve worked with span many sectors including arts organizations, nature and wildlife conservation, social services including food shelves, homeless shelters and youth services, churches, schools, museums, hospice providers and healthcare and animal rescue/humane societies.

While my initial goal was to focus on my local non-profit community, word of mouth has lead to connections across the country. So far, I have helped organizations located in New York, Oregon, California, Connecticut Maine and Vermont.

*Note: While I am absolutely willing to work with non-profits located anywhere in the US, I am not an expert in the Government Mandates and Orders which may have impacted businesses outside of Vermont. If we determine that your organization’s justification for claiming ERC is based on full or partial shutdown by Government Order, it is the Organization’s responsibility to provide the relevant documentation to support the claim

If your non-profit has not claimed ERC, I would be honored to partner with you bring these funds into your organization to support your essential work and worthy mission.

I have helped Non-Profits of all sizes apply for ERC.
Eligibility is calculated on a per employee/ per quarter basis.

The smallest claim we’ve filed based on a decline in receipts was for a single employee organization that was able to claim just under $20,000. Another, larger organization was eligible for nearly $700K based on decline in receipts. The average for a small organization of 3-5 employees is in excess of $50k while larger organizations with 8-12 employees tend to be eligible for an average of $150- $250K.

The smallest claim we’ve filed based on partial shutdown was for a small organization whose annual in-person fundraising event was canceled due to the prohibition of in-person gatherings. In that case, the claim was for $15K. A larger organization whose in-person programs and services were disrupted due to partial shutdown will be claiming over $1 Million in ERC for the impacted quarters.

Evaluation of your organization’s eligibility is risk free. If we find that your organization is not eligible, you will not be charged. If you are eligible, our rates are a tiny fraction of the going rates described above and a tiny fraction (typically 1.5-3% depending on complexity) of your total ERC credit.
